Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the Philip Kotler Presidential award in New Delhi on Monday. The first ever award received by the Prime Minister focuses on the triple-bottom-line of 'people, profit and planet'. Dr. Jagdish Sheth of EMORY University, Georgia, USA, conferred the award to PM Modi.
PM Modi was selected for his "outstanding leadership for the nation" according to the award citation.

The Citation mentions: "His visionary leadership has also resulted in Digital Revolution (Digital India), including Aadhaar, for social benefits and financial inclusion. It is enabling entrepreneurship, ease of doing business, & creating a 21st century infrastructure for India."

Philip Kotler is an American marketing author, consultant, and professor, currently the S. C. Johnson Distinguished Professor of International Marketing at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
