The Rajasthan government has imposed a statewide lockdown from May 10 to May 24 in order to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The lockdown will come into force from 5 am on May 10 till 5 am on May 24.
The decision to impose a lockdown in the state was taken at a virtual meeting of the state cabinet. It was decided that due to the prevailing pandemic situation, a lockdown was required to break the chain of transmission.

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said in the prevailing situation, a nationwide lockdown is the only option left to check the spread of Covid-19.
He said if properly planned, a nationwide lockdown can help in breaking the chain of transmission of the viral infection.
