Union Home minister Rajnath Singh Tuesday filed his nomination papers for the Lucknow Lok Sabha seat after holding a roadshow in the Uttar Pradesh capital, where BJP supporters turned up in large numbers and showered flower petals on him.

Special pumps for spraying rose petals were also brought by the enthusiastic workers of the saffron party.

JDU Leader KC Tyagi, BJP State president Dr. Mahendra nath Pandey, senior leaders Dinesh sharma Keshav Maurya, Kalraj Mishra, Sidharth Nath Singh and Sudhanshu Trivedi along with thousand of party workers were present in the road show which started from party office in Hazrat ganj and ended at collectorate.

Rajnath Singh also visited a Hanuman temple and then went to the BJP office from where the road show began. The road show was marked by several trucks, cars and camels, apart from folk singers who danced along the way.

Assistant of Late PM and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajapeyi Shiv Kumar was also present on the occasion. Before filing the nomination he said that I will seek the support and blessings of the people to continue working for them and realise Shri Atalji's dream of making Lucknow a world class city.

The Union Minister tweeted in the morning seeking "support and blessings of the people to continue working for them and realise Shri Atalji's dream of making Lucknow a world class city".
