A terroristhas been gunned down by security forces during an encounter on the Jammu-SrinagarNational Highway on Friday morning. The encounter reportedly took place nearthe Bann toll plaza at around 7 AM.
Jammuand Kashmir Police along with troops of 137 Battalion, 187 Battalion of CRPFcarried out a search operation, following which the incident took place. Meanwhile,a policeman also sustained injuries during the encounter.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police tweeted, "Police intercepted a Srinagar bound truck at Bann Toll Plaza on Jammu-Srinagar highway. The truck bound terrorists fired on police triggering an encounter. One policeman injured, one terrorist killed. Encounter going on. More details to follow."

The local traffic movement has been stopped following the encounter.
