Mobile app TikTok on Saturday expressed its concern and shared condolences to the family of a 12-year-old boy who accidentally choked himself to death in an attempt to shoot and upload his video on the app on Thursday in Kota.
"We would like to confirm that there is no such hashtag challenge or activity that TikTok is promoting on its app. The app in no way endorses, promotes or encourages its users to engage in any behaviour that might cause harm to oneself or anyone else either via challenges or content published," said an official statement.

"We have a zero tolerance policy on content and behaviour that is against our Community Guidelines," the statement further added, expressing their condolences for the family and friends of the deceased.
The incident took place on Thursday morning.
"If it was not for TikTok then my child would have been alive," said the boy's father.
Sources informed that when the boy's body was found, he was sporting vermillion, 'mangalsutra' and bangles.
The boy had hung himself from a noose in his bathroom as a part of 'TikTok challenge'.
The body has been sent for post mortem and a case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
