New Zealand government officiallyannounced two new positive COVID19 cases have been detected.
Both the patients are returnees from the United Kingdom. This brings an end to the 24-days gap of no infections in the country. The two new cases were women aged in their 30s and 40s Both women arrived in the country on June 7.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern previously had said new cases may come up in the future as New Zealanders return home.
New Zealand now has a total number of 1,506 cases, deaths from the disease remain at 22.
