The rescue operations, conducted between June 25 and June 29, 2025, spanned several important junctions, including Katihar, Kishanganj, Kamakhya, New Bongaigaon, and New Coochbehar. The RPF personnel, working round the clock, were able to intercept suspected trafficking attempts and trace runaway minors, ensuring that each individual was safely handed over to Childline authorities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), local police, or reunited with family members following proper verification.

Coordinated Operations Across NFR

On June 25 and 26, the RPF teams from Katihar, Kishanganj, and Samsi jointly rescued five minor boys who were found loitering or travelling alone under suspicious circumstances. After thorough questioning and checks, they were handed over to the local Childline units for counselling and care.

The next day, on June 27, a minor boy was rescued by the RPF team at Kamakhya Railway Station. The child, believed to have run away from home, was later placed in the safe custody of Childline Kamakhya after due procedures.

A major rescue operation was carried out at New Bongaigaon Railway Station on June 28, where the RPF post intercepted and rescued five minor girls along with a man who was accompanying them. The minors were immediately taken into Childline’s protection, while the man was detained for interrogation and is currently under legal scrutiny.

On June 29, the RPF unit at New Coochbehar located a missing adult man who had reportedly lost contact with his family. After verifying his identity, the man was safely reunited with his relatives.

In addition to these rescue operations, the RPF continued to implement its “Meri Saheli” initiative with active support from its all-women task force. The initiative, aimed at ensuring the safety and comfort of female passengers—especially those travelling alone—has made a significant difference across the NFR zone. The dedicated lady RPF squads conduct regular patrolling onboard trains and at stations, offering assistance and ensuring a safe travel environment.
