BJP MLA Rituparna Baruah's controversial comment on conspiracy being concocted against Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal not only outside the party but within the party as well has created ripples in the AGP-BJP-BPF alliance.
Even during the third year of former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi's tenure, reports of such conspiracy from within his party had made headlines.
Baruah had made these allegations right in front of Sonowal and also added that financial aid too has been provided in an attempt to defame the CM.
Several BJP MLAs have expressed their concern on this issue, however, it is unusual of Sonowal to keep silent when reports as such are making rounds.
Khumtai MLA Mrinal Saikia said, "How and who is involved in the conspiracy, I have no knowledge of it. If Rituparna Baruah knows of it, then he should let us know. All members of the party and the public have to come together against this issue. The conspiracy has to be dismantled at its initial stage."
Supporting Baruah, Chabua MLA Binod Hazarika said, "In order to make the Sarbananda Sonowal led government unstable, the opposition is trying its best to defame and malign Sonowal's image. Especially, Congress has selected a few to do so. Sonowal will not take any decision keeping the people of Assam in darkness".
On the other hand, Duliajan MLA has alleged Congress of concocting conspiracy against the government because of the Citizenship Amendment Bill.
Speaking on Rituparna Baruah's comment on internal conspiracy, state BJP president Ranjit Kumar Das said, "Whatever Baruah has said, it is his personal opinion. Everyone has the right to voice it. I would like to learn everything concerning this issue from him. Being the president of the party, I can assure that there is nothing cooking internally. There is no conspiracy against the CM nor will there be one in the future".
