Russia and Croatia stunned their rivals on Sunday and proceeded into the quarter finals of FIFA World Cup 2018.
In the first match, hosts Russia beat Spain 4-3 in the penalty shootout, following a 1-1 draw as neither side looked ready to win the game in normal time. A brave defensive performance from Russia in extra time earned them a penalty shootout against the 2010 winners.
In the second Round of 16 encounter at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, Croatia overcame Denmark 3-2 in the penalty shootout. After a thrilling start to the match, with both sides scoring in the opening four minutes, Croatia needed penalties to see off Denmark.
July 07 shall witness the Russia-Croatia face off at Sochi.
