The eight-seeded Ashleigh Barty, who also played inthe Big Bash League (BBL), defeated 19-year-old Czech Marketa Vondrousova instraight sets of 6-1, 6-3 to win French Open on Saturday. Both Barty andVondrousova were playing their maiden Grand Slam final.
After defeating Vondrousova, Barty has the first Australian to win a singles titles at Roland Garros since Margaret Court in 1973. It may be mentioned here that Barty played as a cricket in the women's BBL in 2015 and in 2016.
