Mizoram's star weightlifter and Youth Olympics gold medallist Jeremy Lalrinnunga has done the country proud by winning a silver medal in the men's 67kg category, fetching India's second medal in the EGAT's Cup International Weightlifting Championships in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
16-year-old Lalrinnunga performed exceedingly well to lift 131kg in snatch and 157kg in clean and jerk to make it a total of 288 kg. Lalrinnunga had also secured a gold medal last year in the Buenos Aires Youth Olympics in the 62kg category with a total lift of 274kg (124+150). This EGAT's Cup International Weightlifting Championships is a silver level Olympic qualifying event.
