The governing body meeting of the Assam Cricket Association (ACA), held in its office here today, has resolved to select senior vice president Nilay Dutta as the acting president.

The meeting also decided to hold the crucial annual general meeting on November 4 as per the new constitution which will be adopted on or before September 20 as per the Supreme Court order. The constitution will be registered on September 20 with the Firm and Societies.
The State cricket body also set up the core committee today to host the forthcoming One-day International between India and West Indies which is scheduled to be held on October 21 at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara here. Today's meeting held threadbare discussion on the development of the game in the State, stated a release issued by the ACA secretary Pradeep Buragohain.
The new development took place following the decision of the Supreme Court that no politician can become the office bearer of any constituent of the BCCI. Mr Himanta Biswa Sharma was the President of the ACA since 2016.
