Google has launched a new jobs portal aiming to simplify the job searches. This feature has debuted in India on Tuesday. It is already available in the US from 2017. The Google jobs search will be available in English on the Google app in both iOS and Android accessible both in desktop and mobile.
All that a job seeker needs to do is to conduct a Google search using the relevant keywords after which a special module opens that enables the user to explore, customise and save relevant job postings. This portal redirects the user to the relevant job posting on a partner site instead of storing the job listings directly.
Google has partnered with IBM Talent Management Solutions, LinkedIn, Quezx, QuikrJobs, Shine.com, T-Jobs, TimesJobs, Wisdomjobs along with Aasaanjobs, Freshersworld and Headhonchos. Giving the ease to look for accurate jobs, Google Jobs search results has enabled filters. The filters include job profile, title, location, date posted and company type among others.
To let users know quickly about new potential and relevant jobs become available, Google Jobs search has included an 'Alerts' feature to alert users. There is a 'Bookmark' feature to let users return to job postings in the future and also save listings and share them.
Achint Srivastava of the Google Search Engineering team said "By working with our many partners to integrate their comprehensive listing of jobs, and offering an open platform where any third-party job search board or direct employer and can now surface their jobs to a broader audience, we hope this new experience on Google will help make the job search simpler and more effective."
Not only to help job seekers but in order to help the larger network of job providers, Google has also released open documentation, which is set to assist organisations to make their job openings discoverable on this new search experience, using open structured schema.org web markup standards that Google supports.
