Flash floods kill at least 50 in Indonesia

At least 50 people have killed by flash floods in Indonesia's easternmost province of Papua on Sunday. Also more than 20 severely injured and damaged a airplane in the airport of the region.

According to authorities, flash flood was triggered by torrential rain on Saturday. The search operation is still under way in the Sentani town and Indonesian disaster agency informed that the death toll could increase.

Notably, the local governments have been warned by the disaster authorities of flash flood like situation due to massive deforestation in Sentani town.

Meanwhile, more than 120 people have been taking shelter at government camps.
