India, meanwhile, has taken a neutral stance. Steering clear of aligning with either bloc, India has consistently called for peace and emphasized the need for dialogue and diplomacy to de-escalate the crisis.

As tensions rise between Israel and Iran, the world appears to be polarizing into two distinct camps. The United States has openly declared its support for Israel and is reportedly preparing for potential military action against Iran. In contrast, global powers like China and Russia have thrown their weight behind Tehran, warning Washington against any intervention.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has voiced strong support for Iran, urging Israel to agree to an immediate ceasefire. Emphasizing the importance of peaceful dialogue, Xi said that war cannot resolve international disputes. His remarks followed a one-hour phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Both leaders not only called for a halt to hostilities but also agreed to share intelligence concerning Iran, as confirmed by Kremlin advisor Yuri Ushakov.

The developments come in the wake of Israel’s recent military campaign — “Operation Rising Lion” — which targeted Iran’s nuclear, missile, and military facilities. Iran responded with counterattacks, further escalating the conflict.

Russia has since issued a direct warning to the US, stating that any assistance to Israel could lead to “extremely dangerous” consequences, signaling a deepening rift among global powers.

Interestingly, both China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had earlier urged for an immediate ceasefire and advocated a diplomatic resolution to Iran’s nuclear issue. Putin has also discussed the matter with the UAE leadership.

On one side of the divide, countries including the US, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Canada, the UK, UAE, and Jordan have voiced support for Israel and opposed Iran’s nuclear ambitions. On the other, Russia, China, Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt have rallied behind Iran.

India, meanwhile, has taken a neutral stance. Steering clear of aligning with either bloc, India has consistently called for peace and emphasized the need for dialogue and diplomacy to de-escalate the crisis.
