Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Assam on September 8 to take part in three important government programmes, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Thursday.

“Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji will visit Assam on September 8 and attend three government functions,” CM Sarma said, adding that further details will be shared soon.

Before his visit to Assam, the Prime Minister will travel to Bihar and West Bengal on Friday, July 18, where he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for a range of development projects valued at over ₹12,000 crore.

In Bihar, PM Modi will address a public meeting in Motihari around 11:30 am, where projects worth more than ₹7,200 crore will be either inaugurated or launched. These include software technology parks, road infrastructure initiatives, and the introduction of four new Amrit Bharat trains.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister wrote, “Will be in Motihari, Bihar, tomorrow, 18th July. Development works worth Rs. 7200 crore will be dedicated to the nation or their foundation stones would be laid. These works cover Software Technology Parks, four new Amrit Bharat trains, road projects and more.”

Later in the day, PM Modi will visit Durgapur in West Bengal, where he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth over ₹5,000 crore. These span across critical sectors like oil and gas, power, railways, and roads.

Sharing details about the West Bengal leg of his visit, Modi said on X, “Looking forward to being among the people of West Bengal tomorrow, 18th July. At a programme in Durgapur, will lay the foundation stones for various works and also inaugurate projects worth over Rs. 5000 crore. The projects cover sectors like oil and gas, power, railways, roads.”

The Prime Minister also launched a political attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal, accusing it of misgovernance and claiming that the people of the state are turning to the BJP for change.

“West Bengal is suffering due to TMC misrule. People are seeing the BJP with hope and are convinced that only the BJP can deliver on development. Tomorrow, 18th July, will be addressing a @BJP4Bengal rally in Durgapur. Do join!” PM Modi posted.
