US wants travellers to reveal social media account details

If you want to visit the United States, you will have to provide information of your social media account. The US has requested all visa applicants to hand over information related to their various social media accounts. It also included those traveling to the US for education or business purposes.

If you want to visit the United States, you will haveto provide information of your social media account. The US has requested all visaapplicants to hand over information related to their various social mediaaccounts. It also included those traveling to the US for education or businesspurposes.

As per the Associated Press, the move by the Trump administration will affect as many as 15 million immigrant and nonimmigrant applicants. The applicants are also asked whether they have been deported and whether their family members have ties to terrorist groups.

"Every prospective traveler and immigrant to the United States undergoes extensive security screening. We are constantly working to find mechanisms to improve our screening processes to protect US citizens, while supporting legitimate travel to the United States," State Department was quoted by the Associated Press as saying.
