In a terrible incident, a woman died after falling into a pit while trying to dump garbage on Monday morning.

The incident was reported at Jyotinagar locality in Guwahati’s Bamunimaidam.

The deceased woman has been identified as Aloka Sarma.

According to initial reports, the woman accidentally dropped her mobile phone into the pit while dumping the garbage and fell in while trying to retrieve it.

Meanwhile, the city police has reached the spot and recovered the body from the pit.
