526 teeth removed from Chennai boy’s mouth!

In a bizarre incident, thedoctors have removed 526 teeth from the mouth of a seven-year-old boy at aChennai hospital on Wednesday. The rare surgery was performed at Chennai'sSaveetha Dental College and Hospital.

According to reports, the boy wasbrought to the hospital with a swelling right jaw. He was reportedly sufferingfrom a rare case of compound composite ondontome.

The X-ray and CT-scan report ofthe boy's swelling jaw revealed a lot of rudimental teeth, following whichdoctors decided to extract those teeth.

"We opened up the jaw afteradministering general anaesthesia and saw a bag/sack inside it. The sack,weighing about 200 grams, was carefully removed and was later found to contain526 teeth — small, medium and big sized," a doctor of the hospital wasquoted as saying by IANS.

This could be the first case inthe world in which an individual has been found to have so many teeth.
