COVID-19: India Reports Highest Single Day Spike

India has been one of the worst hit countries by the COVID-19 pandemic. The country, for the first time, witnessed more than 32,000 positive cases in a time span of 24 hours.

These new cases took the total tally of infected people close to more than 9,68,000. The death toll has gone up to 24915, with 606 fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours.

This has been informed by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

According to the Ministry, Maharashtra has been the worst affected Indian state with more than 2,75,000 positive cases and close to 11,000 deaths.

Tamil Nadu's infected tally stands at 151820, besides the death toll standing at 2167.

Delhi has recorded around 117000 cases and has seen 3487 fatalities.
