COVID-19: Northern Railways Offers 500+ Coaches in Delhi

With the view to providing additional healthcare facilities to the people of Delhi and NRC with respect to COVID-19, Northern Railways has reportedly decided to offer 503 isolation coaches to be used as COVID-19 wards.

The coaches, in total, will have 8048 beds. They will be parked across nine different locations of the national capital.

A Livemint report quoted Northern Railways as saying in a statement, "In view of providing additional healthcare facility to people of Delhi-NCR, Northern Railways on demand of state govt is providing 503 isolation coaches equivalent to 8,048 beds as #COVID Care Centers at 9 different stations of Delhi."

Delhi has been one of the worst affected places of India. The national capital has recorded more than a lakh cases so far. More than 21000 are active cases, and more than 3000 lives have died to the contagion.
