In a tragic road accident, two people including awoman died on the spot while more than eight people sustained serious injurieson Tuesday evening. The accident took place at Sarkar Chowk in Mangaldoi.
According to reports, the driver of an auto van(AS-13-AC-1342) lost his control over the vehicle and rammed into a group ofpeople this evening. However, the driver managed to escape from the spot immediatelyafter the incident.
The deceased were identified as Rafikul Islam andAmina Begum. The injured were rushed to a hospital.
Meanwhile, police after reaching the spot initiated an investigation.
