25 suspected Bangladeshis arrested

A total of 25 suspected Bangladeshis were apprehended on  Friday in Tinsukia by the police. The suspected Bangladeshis were held from Dikar Gate.

Members of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Parishad (AJYCP) and Motok Students Union informed the Bordumsa Police Station after the suspects could not produce any valid documents on being questioned. Later they were arrested  by the police for further investigation.

However, the arrested suspects have claimed to be Indian Citizen and said they hail from Karimganj.

Similar incident happened few days back when 31 Bangladeshis were detained by the Railway Protection Force at Guwahati Railway station.The Bangladeshis were arrested when they were preparing to board the Kanchenjunga Express for Agartala, Tripura.

The Bangladeshis couldn't produce any valid Indian citizenship documents when asked by the Railway Police.The foreigners also shared that they went to Bengaluru in search of work and  entered India illegally two-three years ago.

They revealed of reaching Guwahati from Bengaluru.
