3 Government Employees in Dhubri Contract COVID-19

Pratidin Bureau

In yet another incident of a government employee being infected with COVID-19, 3 government employees of Chapar in Dhubri have tested COVID-19 positive.

Two of the patients work for Chapar Fire Brigade Services, and one is an employee of Chapar Municipality. The names of the infected persons are Julhash Ali, Diganta Kakoti and Rubul Adhikari.

The situation in Assam with respect to COVID-19 has turned grim. With ramping up of tests, more positive cases are coming to light. The Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) started by the Assam government for quick detection of positive cases has however been questioned by IMA's Assam branch.

Just a couple of days back, in a strongly-worded press release, the umbrella body of doctors in Assam had categorically questioned the efficacy of RAT. It had also slammed the Assam government's handling of the COVID-19 situation in the state, suggesting that if the government didn't change its approach, the much talked about Assam model with respect to the management of the pandemic may collapse.
