5 killed, 35 injured in truck accident in West Karbi Anglong

In a tragic road accident in West Karbi Anglong, five people had to lose their lives and 35 others were injured.

According to reports, a truck fell off the roads after losing control. Almost 50 people were returning from a pre-Christmas celebration in the vehicle. The truck lost control at a curve on Mukhimpath in Kheroni's Jirikending.

The deceased have been identified as Festingjun Terang, Melrina Terangpi, Jengsudan Sinthongpi, Jaslina Ingtipi and Leader Terang.

It has been alleged that the driver of the truck was drunk which led him to lose control of the vehicle. The injured have been admitted to the hospital.
