The Assam police will celebrate its 68th foundation day, i.e. Assam police day, today at the 4th battalion of Assam police office in Guwahati's Kahilipara.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will attend the celebrations, which will also see various cultural, traditional and drill activities to mark the occasion.
Leading up to the celebrations, Assam police organised awareness programs on cyber crime, use of social media, drug abuse, mob violence, lynching, superstitions and other social issues throughout the state.
This year, the foundation day celebrations will witness participation of general public in great numbers with more active role in an attempt to boost relation between police and the general public.
