After Ugratara, now Siddheswari Devalaya idols stolen

After thieves looted and vandalized the famous Ugratara temple of the Guwahati city  and took away the main  idol besides valuables  and offerings few days back, now the centuries-old two idols of the historic Siddheswari Devalaya in Sualkuchi has been stolen.

The thieves stole idols of Goddess Durga and Lord Krishna.

It is to be mentioned that this is the third incident of loot at the Sidheshwar Devalaya.

After being intimated by the locals, the police reached the spot and investigation is underway.

Siddgeshwar Devalaya is a Shiva temple reconstructed by  Ahom King Shiva Singha in 18th Century on top of a hillock in Sualkuchi.
