Anti-Vaishnavite activity sparks controversy in Majuli

Pratidin Bureau
A high school headmaster of Majuli is facing flak from residents following his move against the Vaishnavite culture. The main criterion behind the action was the length of their hair.
Reportedly, the headmaster of Auniati High School Prasanta Dolakasoria chopped off hair of his students who reside at the Auniati Satra as disciples (Sishu Vaishnab). As per the Vaishnavite tradition, keeping long hair is part of their culture.
Meanwhile, the local organisations of Majuli condemned the incident and demanded to take necessary action against the teacher.
