APCC meets EC over storage of unused EVMs

A delegation of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) met Mukesh Sahu the Chief Electoral Officer, Assam at his Dispur office Tuesday afternoon and submitted a memorandum for ensuring larger transparency in the matter of storage of unused EVM's in different parts of the State.

APCC has asked to provide all concerned political parties/contesting candidates with the list of the Buffer Stations notified for the State of Assam for storage of supplementary EVM's along with the Serial Number and total number of such machines used for training, spare back up etc.

CEO will move the Election Commission of India today for obtaining approval to share the information sought.

APCC also asked CEO to direct all Returning Officers to allow inspection of the Strong Room & Stores of unused EVM's by the concerned political parties/contesting candidates.
