Army Assaults Police at Sonari

A clash erupted between police and army personnel at Sonari on Monday night where the Officer-in-charge of Namtola police station has been assaulted by Army personnel.

The army apprehended some youths in front of the Namtola PS when the police officer questioned the army personnel as to why the youths have been detained. The OC and his associate have been assaulted while questioning. Both of them succumbed to severe injuries and have been rushed to the hospital.

The OC and his associate are now under treatment at Namtola hospital.

Following the incident, more numbers of police have been deployed at Sonari police station.
