Assam recorded 2886 fresh cases of coronavirus infection on Tuesday, pushing the active cases tally to 14615, minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed.

Today, Kamrup Metro registered 550 cases, Kamrup Rural 294 cases, Nagaon 213 cases and Dibrugarh 201 cases.

Meanwhile, the discharged cases have escalated to 33428 while 115 have succumbed to the disease. The total positive cases of the state stand at 48161.
