Assam: Active COVID Cases Tally Touch 28273

1537 new cases of coronavirus were detected on Sunday night in Assam, while 1763 cured COVID patients were discharged, health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed.

Presently, the active cases tally has touched 28273. Meanwhile, the total recoveries have climbed to 96823.

The new cases were reported from Kamrup M- 382; Hojai- 125; Dibrugarh- 108.

The death toll has reached 360 with eight more patients succumbing to the disease. The patients are Late Sankor Sharma(58) & Late Madhusmita Baruah(43),S'sagar; Late Maina Das(42), L'pur; Late Giribala Devi(70), Nagaon; Late Prasanta Kumar Borthakur(62) & Late Prabnab Bhiwmick(62),K'rup M; Late Hiranmoy Das (73),K'jhar; Late Dhaneswar Bora(92),Jorhat.

23336 tests were done in the last 24 hours and the positivity rate is at 6.58%

The total caseload of the state now stands at 125459.
