Assam | Cabinet approves new Land Policy

The new Land Policy was approved by state Cabinet on Thursday. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today ceremonially released the new Land Policy 2019 at his conference hall at Janata Bhawan.

It has been prepared by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department after 30 years. It was last prepared in 1989.

Sonowal also released the Hand Book of Circulars, Volume-V containing the Government Circulars, Office Memorandum, etc. issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department from 1st May, 2007 to 30th August, 2019.          

Speaking on the occasion, the ChiefMinister said that the state government has been putting a lot of emphasis inpreparing the Land Policy to safeguard the interest of the indigenous peopleand the Policy would remove complications regarding land allotments andsettlements.  He also directed theRevenue and Disaster Management Department to make the Hand Book available toall levels of officials of the department. 

Minister of State of Revenue andDisaster Management Bhabesh Kalita, Legal Adviser to the Chief MinisterShantanu Bharali, Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and DisasterManagement Department Kumar Sanjay Krishna were also present in themeeting.
