Assam flood situation remains grim

The flood situation in Gogamukh remained unchanged on saturday. Jiya Dhol, Kumotiya,  river have  created havoc in Gogamukh. Many villages are still drowned in flood water. The flood affected people have been shifted  to Dhemaji's  Dharmapur shelter camp.

There scarcity of food and clothing have also caused serious problems for the flood  affected people in the shelter camps.

On the other hand Lakhimpur is facing severe flood after North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd (NEEPCO) released water from the Ranganadi dam project. The water level of Ranganadi and its tributaries  increased to a great extent since Wednesday night. 50 villages of Lakhimpur's including Bangaon, Duapar, Pokadol, Molual are still underwater. In Lakhimpur's five revenue circles, 34,212 people have been affected by the flood .

In majuli 30 villages are affected by flood. More than 10 schools are halted. Lachan chapori, Dhonai, Bonoria Chapori, Yogigaon, Salmara  are heavily affected by flood. The flood affected people have been facing severe food scarcity.
