Assam gets some relief from sudden cold waves

Pratidin Bureau

The sun has brought respite from the cold waves to the Guwahati city dwellers today. The entire northeast had been reeling under the cusp of a cyclonic circulation which had led to the adverse weather conditions across the state of Assam.

The hailstorm that had lashed parts of the Tinsukia district in the beginning of this week was caused due to this particular cyclonic circulation, causing severe damage to several tea plantations across the district. However, according to the Skymet Weather, the cyclonic tension is not yet over as there are high probabilities of patchy rains across the northeast.

Even though the sun is shining bright after the heavy rains, the weather has again returned to being dry, marking one of the characteristics of 'phagun'.
