Assam Guv Seeks Blessing from Maa Durga on Maha Shashti

Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi inaugurated the Maligaon Kalibari Durga Puja on Friday morning. The sixth day of Navaratri is celebrated as Maha Shashti, the day when Maa Durga is placed on the pandals to worship the Goddess. The day marks the beginning of the festival and is commemorated with great zeal and fervor by all devotees.

GovernorMukhi also seeks blessings from Maa Durga along with his wife and offersspecial puja at Kali Temple in Kalibari.

TheGovernor offers prayer seeking peace and harmony in the society.

Meanwhile,the people of Assam are also geared up to celebrate the festival of Durga Puja withthe beginning of the festival today with Maha Shashti and the puja pandals areseen placing the idols in the mandaps which marks the beginning of the four dayfestival.
