Assam Men Held Captive In TN Rescued

In a joint operation by Assam Police and Tamil Nadu police, 13persons who were held captive in the Krishnagiri district have been rescued onWednesday.

11 of the 13 persons rescued belong from Dibrugarh district while two are from Charaideo district.

The operation was launched after one of the men managed to sharea video clipping describing their agony in the social media.

It may be mentioned that the youths who went for job in TamilNadu have been kept inside a room and were attacked by locals and also demandedmoney from them in lieu of freeing them.

Meanwhile, one of the men shared a video after which the policejointly launched the operation to rescue them.

However, Charaideo Superintendent of Police, Anand Mishra saidthat they received the information on Sunday after which they immediatelycontacted Tamil Nadu police to rescue the men.

The SP informed that the men were taken to Krishnagiri to workin a factory but was kept active after they got into a verbal altercation withthe job contractor over some financial issue.
