With the first day of the year, Punyadham Yatra, an initiative of the Tourism Department of Assam to let the senior citizens tour the pilgrimage sites, has begun.

On Tuesday, a 91 membered-group has embarked on the journey from Paltan Bazar railway station to Brindavan on the Rajdhani Express.

Chairman of the Assam Tourism Development Corporation Limited, Jayanta Malla Barua was present at the inauguration ceremony of the journey.
