Bollywood movie 'Zila Ghaziabad' director Anand Kumar, is working on former India football captain Baichung Bhutia's biopic.

Bhutia joins the pantheon of sports personalities such as Milkha Singh, Paan Singh Tomar, Mary Kom, MS Dhoni and Sandeep Singh to be immortalised on celluloid through a biopic.

Kumar has conceptualised the biopic, which will showcase the life of Bhutia.

Baichung's story is one of sheer grit and determination against all odds.

Bhutia is excited about the project and he believes the filmmaker is the right person to honour his journey.

He received the Sikkim State Award 1999 and the Arjuna Award in 1999. The Sikkim government has built a stadium – the Baichung Stadium in Namchi, the district headquarters, in his honour.
