Both Ugratara deities to be installed on May 23

Themembers of the management committee of Ugratara Temple in the city haveinformed that both old and new deities will be installed in the temple on May23rd, with religious ceremony.

Themanagement committee further stated that the Ugratara Mahotsav will begin fromMay 22nd. Earlier the Mahotsav was postponed following the recovery of the olddeity.

"We were supposed to organise the Ugratara Mahotsav to install the new deity, but with the blessings of Ma, the police recovered the old deity on May 1. Hence we postponed the Ugratara Mahotsav. But now the Mahotsav will begin from May 22nd and both the deities will be installed on May 23rd," said a member of the managing committee.

Notably, the Golaghat Police had recovered the centuries-old deity of Ugratara temple and also detained four thieves from Nalbari in connection with the case on May 1.
