Budget 2019: Sitharaman chairs meeting with Assam MPs

Ahead of the budget presentation for the fiscal year 2019-20, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chaired a meeting with the representatives of lower and upper house members from Assam in New Delhi on Monday.

The new finance minister Sitharaman has two weeks to prepare the budget for the fiscal year 2019-20 (FY20), which will be presented on 5 July. Assam has sought special fiscal package from the government of India to revive its devastated economy.

DoNER Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and Minister of State in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries Rameswar Teli also took part in the meeting.
