CAB : Posters hung on roadside slam Sonowal, Siddhartha

Pratidin Bureau

Amid the tension prevailing across the State following the Union Cabinet's nod to the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, some unidentified people hung posters in front of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal's parental home, slamming the CM for his alleged stand on the controversial Bill.

Meanwhile, in Guwahati, unknown protestors put up posters with messages against the Bill outside the private residence of state Education minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya late on Friday night.

Earlier, Sonowal had to leave for Jorhat by a helicopter to avoid the massive protest brought out by the AASU (All Assam Students' Union) in Dibrugarh demanding the scrapping of the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB). Hundreds of members of the Dibrugarh unit of the AASU staged protest in front of the residence of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at Lakhi Nagar on Monday.
