CM Sarbananda Sonowal chairs review meet of APWD Works

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal chaired a review meeting of the Assam Public Works Department (APWD) works in Guwahati on Monday.

Present in the review meet were PWD minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, MoS (PWD) Topon Kumar Gogoi, Assam BJP President Ranjeet Kumar Dass and other Ministers, MLAs and officials from the government to name a few.

The day-long review meet of APWD featured comprehensive discussions on project implementation of various works of the department.

During the meet it was discussed that constituency wise deliberations and executable action plan will be formed to ensure optimum work delivery.

Following the meet, Sarbananda Sonowal in a tweet said "Development of roads accorded highest priority. The present government has constructed 9842 km of roads under Pradhan Mandri Gram Sadak Yojana in 1 year".

CM Sonowal added that Mahavir Lachit-Chilarai Setu Nirman Achoni will concretize more than 800 wooden bridges at cost of around Rs 1,500 Crore.

"For road development works, 800 tea gardens will be given Rs 1 Crore each", the CM tweeted.
