CM Sonowal hails Union Budget 2019-20

AssamChief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday hailed the Union Budget 2019-20 andsaid that it is a "pro-people and pro-poor" budget and it will be a great boostto expedite the progress of the poor and middle class of the country.

In a statement made in Guwahati today, CM Sonowal said that Assam and the other Northeastern States will also be benefitted from the Jal Jeevan Mission that ensures 'Har Ghar Jal' to all rural households by 2024. He further said that 'Pradhan Mantri Karam Yogi Maandhan' pension benefits will help the small and medium scale traders of Assam as well.

Meanwhile,several organisations and political leaders including Pradyut Bordoloi,Prafulla Mahanta and Indian Tea Association (ITA) have expressed theirunhappiness over the Union Budget 2019-20 presented by Finance Minister NirmalaSitharaman.
