CM Sonowal visits Bogibeel Bridge ahead of inauguration

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday visited the Bogibeel Bridge and took stock of the progress of completion work. He also reviewed the preparations for the inaugural programme of the bridge on 25th December to be attended by Prime Minister's Narendra Modi.

The CM inspected both the north and the south bank ends of the bridge during his visit. CM Sonowal said that Bogibeel Bridge would be able to bring revolutionary change to the north and south bank road and rail connectivity and the bridge would fulfill the long felt communication needs of people of both the banks. This bridge would not only contribute in Assam's progress but will also play a big role in the economic resurgence of the entire region, he opined.

He was accompanied by Minister of State (Independent) for Power Tapan Gogoi, MLAs Prashanta Phukan, Rituparna Barua, Bhuban Pegu, Dr Ranoj Pegu, Teros Gowala, Commissioner and Secretary of Transport Department Ashutosh Agnihotri along with top officials of Railway Department.
