Additional Director General of Assam (Law & Order) GP Singh took to Twitter on Thursday stating 726 Assam Police personnel have tested positive for coronavirus infection as of date out of which 350 have recovered.

Singh added, "We've unfortunately lost one colleague till date. 778 Cops are under quarantine while 20 have rejoined duty".

Meanwhile, a police personnel has tested positive for the coronavirus infection in Guwahati today.

Both, Sub- Inspector Deepjyoti Ingti of Basistha police station and his wife have tested positive today. Complaining of fever and headache they underwent tests and the results came positive. They have been admitted to Sonapur COVID-19 hospital.
