With the Corona scenario in Assam turning grimmer with more and more number of people testing positive for the virus, the news of patients making recovery from the contagion can certainly be music to the ears.

A total of 701 patients were released across Assam today. This takes the figure of total discharged patients to 9848. Active cases stand at 4714.

This was informed by Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on his twitter handle. The Minister wrote, "701 patients discharged today in Assam today~ some good news in these difficult times." He added, "Kindly do take care post recovery."

However, with the surge that Guwahati is witnessing with respect to positive cases, the ongoing lockdown will most likely be extended. This was suggested today by the Principal Secretary of the State Health Department, Samir Sinha.
