COVID-19 Assam: Tally of Infected People Stable Now

Pratidin Bureau

The number of people infected by the pandemic has been stable since July 4.

The tally would have been lesser, but new positive cases have emerged from the ranks of the Police and Army. Many such cases have also been reported from jail.

This was suggested by Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today in a meeting held at GMCH.

Sarma added that since July 1, there has been a surge in the number of positive patients having severe symptoms. The ones having mild symptoms are showing a change.

It was also mentioned in the meeting that the government was trying to bring the three COVID-19 medicines that are available in India to Assam. He, however, added that such medicines have already found a way to the black markets, thus making them very pricey.

The Minister also mentioned about holding daily meetings henceforth with senior doctors to discuss ways to treat each and every COVID patient.
