Debajyoti Hazarika has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC). Hazarika served as the Secretary of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Assam.

Hazarika replaced Debeswar Malakar as Commissioner. Malakar has been transferred as Commissioner Secretary of the employment department.
