Dhemaji: Assam Police Appeals To Follow Lockdown Strictly

The Assam Police appealed the people of Dhemaji, Gogamukh, and Silapathar to abide by strict lockdown on Saturday and Sunday from 7 PM to 7 AM as a preventive measure to curb the spread of coronavirus pandemic.

ADGP GP Singh in a tweet said, "As COVID 19 cases increase in Dhemaji &Assam, we appeal all to abide by strict lockdown from 7PM till 7AM and on Saturday- Sunday in Gogamukh, Dhemaji and Silapathar."

Notably Assam has seen an alarming increase in the COVID-19 cases with the highest number of cases in Guwahati.

In order to prevent any further spread of the disease, the district administration of Kamrup (M) imposed two weeks lockdown in the district which is likely to be extended for another two weeks.

Meanwhile, the other districts have restricted movement of vehicles and the public from Guwahati so that the virus couldn't spread to other places.
